Kalamazoo, MI – California pizza chain, Blaze Pizza, will open its first Kalamazoo location on September 11, bringing a whole new pizza concept to the area and to the newly renovated West Century Center.
The national pizza chain is recognized for their “fast-fire’d to crisp perfection” service thanks to their open-hearth stone ovens, baking any made-to-order 11-inch pizza in 3 minutes or less. Blaze Pizza features eight signature pies and over 40-plus artisanal ingredients to personalize your own pie, all baked with made-from-scratch dough. Healthy alternatives like their signature salads, gluten-free dough, and vegan cheese in addition to their sweet options like their home-made S’mores pie are a few other popular menu items.
Blaze Pizza’s Kalamazoo location is housed on the south end of West Century Center, a property managed by PlazaCorp Realty Advisors, in the 2,700 square-foot, former Verizon Wireless location (which relocated to the north end of the retail center). The new Blaze Pizza is located on the corner of West Main Street and North Drake Road in Kalamazoo, and is designed to seat more than 80 customers inside plus another 24 along their outdoor patio.
The local franchise is owned by Mariane/Birds and Bells, who is also the owner of multiple KFC and Taco Bell restaurant franchises (rightfully earning the “birds and bells” title). Closest to Blaze Pizza is one of their many holdings, the Taco Bell franchise, also located at West Century Center. Mariane/Birds and Bells is also the owner of another local pizza franchise-favorite, the Old Chicago restaurant on South Westnedge Avenue in Portage.
